About Physical Reboot Coach, Jessica Hill Powell
Hi, I'm Jessica. My professional expertise centers around health and behavior change. I have a degree in Psychology from Bellarmine University, am a certified Integrative Health Coach by Duke University, as well as nationally board certified. I'm also a trained yoga instructor.
All of my impressive health-related credentials might have you assuming I'm always on my A-game, I workout consistently, eat one raspberry on Sundays as a treat and am basically in perfect health and am here to show you how to be perfect too. My friend, that would set us both up for failure.
Here's what may surprise you: I deal with depression and anxiety and also have psoriatic arthritis, an autoimmune disease that causes my immune system to ramp up and attack my joints and skin. Learning to live fully with these experiences is why I do this work; because feeling good in your own skin can require some extra work for some of us, whether it's chronic disease, situational stress, or something else.
I am healthy and resilient because I've spent the last 10 years learning how to care for my physical and emotional body, and all of the most important parts are contained in this course.

want to know what inspired me to create the physical reboot?
It's because I needed it. And I realized that if I needed it, you probably need it too.
Health is literally *in my job title* and it's still, at times, beyond my own reach. Not that long ago, I was buckling under the stress of pandemic, disregarding all of the things I've learned over the last decade about how I have to treat my body in order for it to keep functioning the way I want it to. Hello, full blown autoimmune flare up!
Honestly, I was shocked it was happening, but there I was with my joints aching, mental fog, depression, skin outbreaks; the whole nine yards. I told myself that I wasn't eating *that bad* and I didn't even have work to stress over. But here these were circumstances I found myself in. Maybe you can relate, thanks to the pandemic.
- I found myself in the role of stay-at-home mom with 4 small children, plus I’m now their teacher?!
- My introverted nature calls for lots of time spent in quiet, contemplative work. My home environment is more like a circus. A very loud circus. (My kids are 10, 9, 7, and 3)
- My mental overwhelm caused me to forget about my self-care toolbox.
- I was trying to keep up with ALL THE THINGS, and not respecting that my own capacity for getting things done has been severely diminished. I mean, we're in the middle of a pandemic, my business was shut down and we're all in quarantine but I still wasn't cutting myself any slack.
Having been without a flare-up for years, this one felt like absolute defeat and threatened my mobility, my clarity of mind and my ability to take care of my children and their most basic needs. Absolutely exhausted, I had zero energy to put into work, relationships, or anything that usually brings me joy.
The good news is that years of trial and error have shown me the way back to feeling better. I know exactly what to do when I fall off the wagon and my well-laid plans are derailed. Triage. Hard reset. Ctrl+Alt+Del. Physical Reboot.
There are two parts to the process of finding or coming back around to the practices, routines and rituals that help a person feel good about life again: physical and emotional. To really give yourself the reset you need, these things must be focused on one at a time. Physical comes first and supports the emotional.
Baby step by baby step, I'll gently lead you through the process of rebuilding your vitality. You'll have all the support you need to come out the other side feeling better lighter, energized, focused, well-rested, and overall a happier human being. In the Physical Reboot, we'll start with the most foundational piece: nutrition.
You won’t have to look outside of yourself for a set of dietary rules to follow ever again. You’ll get good at interpreting your body’s signals, she’ll tell you what to eat and what not to eat, and you’ll finally listen because you’re connected to your inner knowing. Maybe that sounds like some new-age woo, but it's all rooted in science and it's easier than you might think. If you're willing to devote yourself to six weeks to your well-being, I'm willing to guarantee you'll be better off for it.

I have 4 small kids, and cook dinner 3-4 times a week, making big meals that are nutritious and filling. With all that I have to juggle, I have a few requirements that must be met in order for a meal to make an appearance more than once in my house. It must be made of whole foods, delicious (i.e. not just tolerable), easy to prepare, easy to clean up and be good re-heated. I'll share my personal recipes with you that are simple, easy, and effective every single time, even when I'm dripping with children.
We'll be cooking deeply nutritious meals that are easy as humanly possible. We'll be practicing the most basic self-care, feeding ourselves, that leaves us feeling nourished and well-loved. You'll find the joy in eating again (and if you've never had it, let's get started).

I was pretty miserable. I was diagnosed with POTS and anemia. My anxiety was at an all-time high and my overall mood was at an all-time low.
One of the most important things she taught me is to measure my success by how I feel. I've been told there is no cure for POTS. But I feel a thousand times better than when I started. The Nitty Gritty
Foundation for Success
In the first module, you'll set the stage for your success by diving into your sense of ideal health. We'll look at the real power of your imagination, and why creating a vision of your well-being is so important. (Hint: if you can't imagine it, it's not going to happen in real life.) We'll go through a self-assessment, where you’ll identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. Harnessing the power of your strengths and past “failures” will propel you forward! You’ll go on to develop clear, realistic and measurable goals for your Reboot and beyond. Yes, I know you want to feel less like garbage, but how so? And we'll close out Module 1 by anticipating bumps in the road and creating game plans for when you encounter them and establishing accountability for yourself.
Re-Education + Reconnection
Module 2 is all about re-learning what you thought you knew about nutrition, and reconnecting to your body as a form of guidance. Believe it or not, your body will become the compass that will lead your way. We'll go over the complete Nutrition Guidebook here, which explains what we'll be eating during the Reboot and Discovery Phases and why, as well as what's off the table and why. The whys are sooooooo important in helping you carry your success into the future. You'll be given all the necessary tools to help you properly plan and execute feeding yourself in the most nourishing way, including tips for spotting the sneaky stuff that's on nutrition labels in the United States (thanks F.D.A. for making it as confusing as possible for consumers!) Lastly, you'll set your Reboot start date and we'll wrap up with organizing your pantry and fridge in ways that will help you coast right on through your reboot.
Reaching Your Goals
In Module 3, we'll be dipping our toes into the emotional side of eating. While you're doing your reboot, we'll examine your current emotional eating patterns and "negative" coping mechanisms to unearth their value. On the surface your body is telling you "I need 3 chocolate chip cookies!" but underneath that, it's saying something else that's more true and that serves your well-being. You'll figure out how to better nourish yourself by decoding what your body is really telling you. Next, we'll discuss tracking your progress and non-scale victories. You'll evaluate your successes and difficulties during the Wellness Reboot and shore up your support systems so you can keep up with the behaviors you've discovered that make you feel good, and continue to release they ones you know make you feel like garbage. And finally, you'll get all the bonus materials, including 'Cheat sheets' and 'Secrets to Sustaining Success' how to systematically re-integrate foods back into your diet in order to learn how to keep yourself feeling your best.

You will get the most out of your experience when you participate using a computer or mobile device with a reliable internet connection and video enabled. Through the online class portal, you'll be given supplemental materials and exercises. You may want to print some of these documents.
There are 3 live interactive teaching sessions during the Physical Reboot-- kick-off, check-in, and closing. No worries if you can't make it to the live calls, the recorded replay will be available.
At the conclusion of the entire course, you'll be given access to my calendar and a special code to reserve a day and time that's best for you.
Live interactive sessions are up 90 minutes. The amount of time dedicated to pre/post session activities is dependent on the individual.
Beyond the 3 live interactive sessions that provide direct access to the instructor, you'll also have:
- Online course material to prepare you for the Physical Reboot and materials, tools, or exercises to support your learning, experience, and implementation of insights throughout
- Should you choose, you will be given a “buddy” to help keep each other accountable (discussed and designated during the first group session)
